There is a referral scheme in place to reward you for any new customers you bring our way.

Basics

The reward takes the form of either a service credit or a larger one-off donation to Debian. You will be contacted when the reward is earnt so that you can specify which you would prefer.

Service credits

Service credits are awared when customers you refer settle their invoices, and depend on which plan the referred customer is on and whether they pay monthly, quarterly or yearly:

RAM (MiB) Monthly credit Quarterly credit Yearly credit
64 £0.70 £1.90 £7.00
96 £1.05 £2.85 £10.50
128 £1.40 £3.85 £14.00
160 £1.75 £4.80 £17.50
192 £2.00 £5.50 £20.00
256 £2.60 £7.15 £26.00
320 £3.20 £8.80 £32.00
384 £3.85 £10.45 £38.50
448 £4.45 £12.10 £44.50
512 £5.05 £13.75 £50.50

For example, if you currently have a quarterly payment of £44 and you have signed up a new customer who chose a 128MiB VPS then you would earn a service credit of £1.40 each time the new customer settled a monthly invoice, £3.85 for quarterly invoices and £14.00 for yearly invoices.

If you manage to reduce your payments to zero then any further credits can be used to upgrade your service, or made as donations as below.

Donations

If you wish, instead of a service credit, a one-off donation will be made to either Debian UK or Software in the Public Interest, Inc. on your behalf. We will choose which organisation gets the donation.

Size of donation is also based on which plan the new customer chooses:

RAM (MiB) Donation
64 £3.20
96 £4.80
128 £6.40
160 £8.00
192 £9.20
256 £12.00
320 £14.80
384 £17.60
448 £20.40
512 £23.20

Eligibility

You will be eligible for the reward if, prior to account setup, a new customer states that you have referred them (get them to give your VPS name).

Service credits will be rewarded at the time a referred customer settles an invoice (including initial account setup), and you will be notified of this by email.

Customers who already have free accounts may use service credits to upgrade their service, or as donations.
