neogeek

Neogeek is a concept invented by Tim around 2004 to explain how he is not a geek, while still allowing him to derive pleasure from some geeky pursuits. For example, Tim works in IT, has several computers and other electronic devices and sometimes does things with them that could be considered geeky. However he asserts that because he enjoys the finer things in life he is therefore a neogeek and not just another variant of geek.

Others counter that he is a geek who has not embraced the positive aspects of geekhood (reclaimed the "geek" insult) and therefore feels the need to distance himself from his true nature.
